At SimuDome, we are actively testing the capabilities of our immersive cylindrical environment and exploring the potential of the SimuDome Training Center.

The current tests are being carried out at the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PCSS), in collaboration with a dedicated team of specialists working within the academic environment of Wrocław University of Science and Technology. SimuDome delivered a demo version of its product, which serves as a foundation for evaluating both the technological possibilities and the future development paths of training solutions based on shared virtual reality.

The first test scenarios focused on a light aircraft flight simulation over a scanned and fully digitized terrain. Participants were able to control the aircraft within a highly immersive cylindrical display, allowing the team to assess system performance, user interaction, and the experience of operating in a shared virtual space.

In addition, multiple training scenarios and supporting VR accessories were tested — including a game controller for aircraft navigation within the cylindrical screen and Google VR solutions used as a complementary interface.

These initial tests mark only the beginning. Further scenarios, configurations, and use cases will be explored to better understand how SimuDome Training Center can support advanced training, simulation, and decision-making environments.

What’s next?
More tests and new implementations are coming soon.
